1. The toilet is not a waste disposal system!

2. You will often hear that taking a shower is a great way to save water. If you then fit an aerator you will save even more water. But what to do if you prefer a bath, you can fit a modern bath which is designed to give you just enough water.

3. Fit low flow taps, so you get ample but not too much water. These are now commonly available.

4. Don’t use a salt based water softener. These will use 100’s to 1000’s of litres of water a year! Use a proven salt free softener.

5. Educate family members about the issues and costs of your water bill.

6. Check for leaks and dripping taps. This could add up to 500 liters a week!

7. Replace the washers with synthetic rubber washers as they won’t become brittle and crack Fit a dual flush syphon to your existing toilet.

8. Buy a good quality washing machine and dishwashers, which will wash properly first time, with the least amount of water needed. Don’t buy the one which uses the least amount of water, if it doesn’t have brilliant wash results. If they don’t wash right the first time, you have to wash it again, so you are actually wasting water, time and energy!

9. In the garden everything should be suitable to your soil conditions. ie use drought resistant grass seed, flowers and vegetables if you regularly get droughts. Also fit as many water butts as possible, along with a water butt pump which will let you water with a hose, even during a hose pipe ban!

10. Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth. 6 litres of water is used from a running tap every minute.

DON'T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT

Your AQUABION – system has been operating successfully in our company for
some time in a humidifier of an air – conditioning system.

A truly remarkable piece of kit. Like everyone I was a bit sceptical at first but this unit has been fit and forget and so easy to install. We are a hard water area and limescale was an unsightly problem but is now a thing of the past. Unit starting its 5th year in use and no deterioration in performance noticed yet.

We have very hard water and lime scale is a problem for all appliances and particularly the shower. Had a refit recently and incorporated an Aquabion Mini …. only a month in but looks good. Will be adding one to washing machine soon … as we have been through 3 machines in 10 years
