Aquabion UK Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit www.aquabion-uk.com (our site) or deal with us, how we use it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Aquabion UK Ltd is the controller of your personal data.

  • Address: 25 High Street, Corsham, Wiltshire, SN13 0ES
  • Email: info@aquabion-uk.com
  • Phone: 01380 609395

Information we collect about you

Information you give us. You may give us information by filling in forms on our site (for example our quote, contact or warranty registration forms), by placing an order, or by corresponding with us by phone, email or otherwise. This may include your name, address, email address, phone number, details of your property or water system, and payment information.

Information we collect automatically. When you visit our site we may automatically collect technical information, including your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, and information about your visit such as the pages you viewed, how long you spent on them, and how you arrived at and left our site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy below.

Information we receive from other sources. We may receive information about you from third parties we work with, such as installers and merchants who sell our products, payment providers, delivery companies, analytics providers and advertising networks.

How we use your information and our lawful bases

We will only use your personal data where the law allows us to. Most commonly we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Performance of a contract — to process your order or quote request, deliver products, register your warranty, and provide customer support.
  • Legitimate interests — to administer and improve our site, keep it secure, respond to enquiries, and (for existing customers) to tell you about similar products and services by email, unless you opt out. We only rely on legitimate interests where these are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent — for non-essential cookies (including analytics and advertising cookies) and for marketing to you where you are not an existing customer. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation — to keep records required by law, for example for tax and accounting purposes.

Marketing

We may send you marketing emails about our products and services if you have consented, or if you are an existing customer and the marketing relates to similar products or services (in which case you may opt out at any time). Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out by contacting us at info@aquabion-uk.com. We will not sell your personal data, and we will not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes without your consent.

Who we share your information with

We may share your personal data with:

  • Service providers acting on our behalf, such as website hosting, IT support, payment processing and delivery companies.
  • Installers, merchants and business partners where necessary to fulfil your order or provide services you have requested.
  • Analytics and advertising providers (such as Google and Meta) who help us understand how our site is used and deliver relevant advertising — subject to your cookie consent (see Cookie Policy below).
  • Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants and insurers where necessary.
  • Prospective buyers or sellers in the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, or if Aquabion UK Ltd or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party.
  • Law enforcement, regulators and other authorities where we are under a legal duty to disclose your data, or to enforce our terms of use or protect the rights, property or safety of Aquabion UK Ltd, our customers or others.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. Our service providers may only process your personal data on our instructions.

International transfers

Some of our service providers (for example, analytics and advertising providers) may process your personal data outside the UK. Where we transfer your data outside the UK, we ensure it receives an equivalent level of protection, either because the destination country has been deemed adequate by the UK Government, or by using safeguards approved for use in the UK such as the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Data security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way. Payment transactions are encrypted. We limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents and third parties who have a business need to know, and we have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data breach. We will notify you and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

How long we keep your data

We only keep your personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes we collected it for, including to satisfy legal, accounting or reporting requirements. In general: customer and warranty records are kept for the duration of your warranty plus 6 years (in line with legal claim limitation periods); enquiry records are kept for up to 2 years; and marketing preferences are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Financial records are kept for 6 years as required by law.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data (a “subject access request”) — free of charge in most cases;
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances;
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances;
  • Data portability — receive a copy of data you provided to us in a structured, machine-readable format;
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests, and object at any time to direct marketing;
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@aquabion-uk.com or write to us at 25 High Street, Corsham, Wiltshire, SN13 0ES. We will respond within one month.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk / 0303 123 1113). We would appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns first, so please contact us before approaching the ICO.

DON'T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT

Your AQUABION – system has been operating successfully in our company for
some time in a humidifier of an air – conditioning system.

Mr Geist and Mr Blunck of Bosch

A truly remarkable piece of kit. Like everyone I was a bit sceptical at first but this unit has been fit and forget and so easy to install. We are a hard water area and limescale was an unsightly problem but is now a thing of the past. Unit starting its 5th year in use and no deterioration in performance noticed yet.

Graham Martin

We have very hard water and lime scale is a problem for all appliances and particularly the shower. Had a refit recently and incorporated an Aquabion Mini …. only a month in but looks good. Will be adding one to washing machine soon … as we have been through 3 machines in 10 years

Julian Humphreys
Since we have had this product fitted our water has been great for our skin, great for our dishwasher and washing machines as we notice our clothes feel fresher.  I would recommend this product to my friends and further suggest that this product will save you money in the long term as it will reduce issues with pipe clogging up. All new homes being built in a hard water area should have this product fitted as a mandatory instruction for all builders
